Emerging Technology Services Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Emerging Technology Services Engineer with 6 to 11 years of professional experience, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time onsite position involves leading innovation efforts by researching and applying advanced technologies to transform business processes and create scalable solutions. The successful candidate will be deeply involved in AI/ML experimentation, cloud-native developments, automation strategies, and enabling innovation within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and evaluate new, emerging technologies to solve both technical and business challenges.
• Create and deliver AI and machine learning proof-of-concepts to test innovative ideas.
• Develop scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native applications.
• Design and implement automation and orchestration systems to enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and architecture to uncover innovation opportunities.
• Stay abreast of technology trends and recommend strategic adoption aligned with company goals.
• Build prototypes and pilot projects that demonstrate tangible business benefits.
• Document architectures, technical insights, and best practices for future use.
• Mentor team members on emerging technologies and innovation methodologies.
• Participate in architecture reviews and support technology governance processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience developing AI/ML models and proof-of-concepts.
• Familiarity with Generative AI and Large Language Models is advantageous.
• Strong expertise in cloud-native solutions using AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with microservices, container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
• Solid background in automation and orchestration with modern enterprise tools and scripting.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code is a plus.
• Experience in driving innovation through rapid prototyping and assessment of emerging technologies.
• Prior involvement in innovation labs, R&D or digital transformation initiatives is desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field.
• At least 6 to 11 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills paired with effective communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.

Additional Preferred Expertise

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of API integrations and event-driven architecture concepts.
• Exposure to data engineering and analytics platforms.
• Familiar with cybersecurity practices related to cloud-native apps.
• Cloud and AI/ML certifications add value.
