About the Role
This position is for an engineer with a strong background in embedded device manual verification and software testing. The work involves validating software and systems across the development lifecycle, from early requirement understanding through final release, with a focus on quality, documentation, and defect prevention.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify embedded software and devices manually, with hands-on involvement in test execution and debugging.
- Study system and software architecture, then use that understanding to plan and carry out testing activities.
- Create, review, and refine test protocols for embedded verification work.
- Work with communication interfaces such as RS-232 and RS-485 and demonstrate a solid understanding of communication protocols.
- Participate in software testing from requirements analysis and test planning through design, release management, defect detection, root-cause analysis, and final release support.
- Perform design verification testing with strong attention to accuracy and traceability.
- Prepare clear documentation covering testing activities, issues found, and corrective actions.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across different levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
Required Background
- 5 to 6 years of experience in embedded device manual software verification.
- Overall experience range of 5 to 8 years.
- Basic Embedded C knowledge is needed; around half of the coding requirement should be covered, or the candidate should be trainable in it.
- Experience in designing, reviewing, and updating test protocols.
- Practical exposure to communication protocols such as RS-232 and RS-485.
- Strong experience in design verification testing.
- Familiarity with regulated industries such as medical devices, aerospace, or automotive.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
