Role Overview
The EHS Incharge at the site serves as the primary support to site management in implementing Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements while leading key sustainability initiatives to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support site leadership for the effective adoption and enforcement of EHS guidelines and sustainability priorities.
- Develop and enforce site-specific EHS plans in compliance with applicable legal regulations and standards.
- Assist various departments in adhering to EHS mandates and advance sustainability and energy/water efficiency programs at the site.
- Identify challenges and propose actionable solutions or preventive practices to enhance safety and environmental performance.
- Organize and lead EHS committees consistent with company policies and governmental regulations.
- Perform regular workplace inspections and facilitate audits focusing on EHS, sustainability, and resource efficiency.
- Conduct risk assessments to pinpoint significant EHS and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risks associated with site operations.
- Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure compliance with EHS requirements and compile periodic management information system reports.
- Report incidents promptly, oversee investigations, implement corrective actions, and monitor the effectiveness of preventive measures.
- Maintain effective communications and foster strong relations with clients and regulatory authorities including Fire Department, Factory Inspector, CPCB, and PESO.
- Lead and develop the competency of teams comprising both employees and contractors.
- Prepare, monitor, and manage the annual EHS budget specific to the location or project.
