Role overview
Woolworths Group is hiring an eCom Operations Specialist in Ashburton, Canterbury, New Zealand. This is a full-time, on-site role supporting online operations and process delivery within the supermarket environment.
Work schedule
The role follows roster option 1 with the following hours:
- Monday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Tuesday: 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM
- Wednesday: 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM
- Thursday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

What you will do
- Oversee and keep an assigned workstream moving smoothly by managing the flow of work and maintaining process discipline.
- Partner closely with the Team Leader and the wider team to improve efficiency through coordinated swarm-style work.
- Make sure tasks are completed without interruption and that all procedures and standards are followed accurately.
- Carry out online order fulfilment routines, including correct picking and maintaining fresh food quality requirements.
- Guide the team during shifts, provide practical training and coaching, and act as Store Manager when scheduled to do so.
- Spot process issues early and escalate them promptly to the Function Lead for resolution.
- Support a safe and healthy workplace by following safety practices, reporting hazards, and putting team wellbeing first.
- Contribute actively to communication and collaboration across the team to help maintain a positive working environment.
What you should bring
- Solid capability in process-driven work and a strong commitment to ongoing learning.
- Experience building effective working relationships with colleagues, other functions, and stakeholders.
- Confidence in leading people, including delegating work, tracking progress, coaching, giving feedback, and motivating others.
- Strong knowledge of compliance requirements within the function, along with clear and effective communication skills.
- Behaviour that reflects the company’s values in day-to-day work.
- Availability to work four weekend shifts each month and at least one evening every week.
