Role Overview

The Dispatch Operative plays a critical role in the daily operations of the Central Bakery & Kitchen (CBK) by managing the food dispatch process. This role focuses on the precise, safe, and efficient packing and loading of food orders, preparing them for delivery to customers. Operating in a fast-paced, chilled environment at the final production stage, it demands accuracy, teamwork, and dexterity.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately picking customer orders and assembling finished products in alignment with production timelines.
• Safely loading and unloading delivery crates, labeling them properly, and maintaining quality standards and organization.
• Monitoring product conditions to prevent dispatch of damaged or incorrect goods.
• Strict compliance with Food Safety, HACCP, and Health & Safety standards while maintaining cleanliness and order in the dispatch area.
• Adherence to hygiene protocols, including use of PPE like hairnets, beard snoods, gloves, coats, safety footwear, jackets, and hats.
• Accurately completing delivery documentation such as dockets and stock movement records to maintain traceability.
• Following stock rotation practices including FIFO to ensure perishables are dispatched timely.
• Transporting packed goods to designated storage locations such as shelves, racks, or crates.

Candidate Requirements

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills for order verification, stock control, and paperwork completion.
• Meticulous attention to detail, resilience under deadline pressure, and collaborative work style.
• Ability to identify quality issues and adhere strictly to specifications.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, including reporting issues to supervisors.
• Commitment to punctuality and regular attendance, reflecting a strong work ethic.
• No prior experience necessary as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.
• Capability to perform repetitive manual handling tasks within cold and chilled environments.
• Availability for evening shifts from 2pm to 11pm, Monday through Saturday.
