Dining Assistant

Position Overview

Windmill Healthcare Group is seeking a dedicated full-time Dining Assistant for Ferbane Care Centre located in Ferbane, County Offaly, Ireland. This role supports the smooth operation and high cleanliness standards within the dining environment to ensure excellent service for residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the dining room ahead of each mealtime for service readiness.
• Clean and reset tables and chairs as necessary to maintain hygiene and order.
• Notify the Head Chef and Care Centre Staff of the number of residents dining, including those requiring meals to be delivered to their rooms.
• Transport meals from the kitchen to the dining area and serve residents in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Thoroughly clean the dining area following meals and ensure all used cutlery, crockery, and utensils are returned to the kitchen for cleaning.
• Inform Care Centre Staff about any notable changes in dietary intake or any meal refusals by residents.
• Report any complaints regarding meals or dining service to the Head Chef or the Proprietor as appropriate.

Required Qualifications and Attributes

• Previous experience in a similar dining or food service role is preferred.
• Genuine passion for supporting elderly individuals; must be caring, patient, and possess a good sense of humor and a positive attitude.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Capacity to maintain high standards while working in a busy setting.
