About the Role
We are a forward-thinking and vibrant platform dedicated to bringing the best of Abu Dhabi to the forefront. We seek a skilled Digital Writer who flourishes in fast-moving environments and has a passion for news and lifestyle journalism in one of the world's most dynamic cities. This role involves researching, creating, and publishing engaging web content focused on lifestyle and local news, while collaborating closely with editorial, social media, and commercial teams.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify, propose, and produce compelling news and lifestyle articles for the Time Out Abu Dhabi website.
- Meet daily content targets by delivering timely, precise, and brand-consistent publications.
- Stay informed on local news, events, openings, trends, and viral topics relevant to Abu Dhabi.
- Track and evaluate content performance metrics to understand what resonates and improve strategies accordingly.
- Ensure all materials adhere strictly to editorial guidelines and branding standards.
- Develop and sustain strong connections with key public relations contacts and brands.
- Maintain continuous awareness of the city’s news landscape.
Candidate Profile
- An experienced journalist and content creator with demonstrated expertise in lifestyle, entertainment, or urban stories.
- Possess strong editorial judgment to identify what makes a captivating Time Out article.
- Excellent command over written and spoken English with meticulous attention to detail.
- Have 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in media or a comparable field.
- Efficient, self-motivated, and adept at handling a demanding content calendar.
- Capable of delivering quality content with both speed and accuracy.
- Comfortable working autonomously while consistently meeting tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with SEO principles, GEO targeting, and content tailored for social media audiences.
- Willingness to attend events beyond regular office hours when required.
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills considered a bonus.
