Design Co-ordinator

Role Overview

We are seeking a Design Co-ordinator to join our regional office located in Ballincollig, Co. Cork. This role offers a competitive salary and the chance to work within a dynamic team environment focused on construction design coordination.

Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Proven background in design coordination or a role with similar responsibilities.
• Understanding of construction processes and works.
• Excellent organizational abilities.
• Strong communication skills and a cooperative team approach.
• Capability to handle multiple streams of design information simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with ACC/BIM360 platforms is advantageous.

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate actively with clients, client representatives, and third parties to ensure smooth design processes.
• Encourage a cooperative atmosphere that fosters positive experiences for clients and stakeholders.
• Lead and document internal, client, and third-party design meetings, ensuring timely follow-up on action items.
• Coordinate with the design manager and site teams in preparing and organizing design submissions.
• Arrange regular project coordination meetings to track design output progress against targets and project schedules.
• Manage project mark-ups, address issues, and escalate problems as necessary.
• Review and compile documents and drawings for internal governance and client approval through the gateway process.
• Work closely with the BIM coordination team and design manager to maintain document naming and storage standards as per company quality control.
• Oversee the creation and updating of 3D models through construction, conducting regular accuracy reviews and incorporating stakeholder input.
• Coordinate production of as-built drawings post-construction.
• Facilitate coordination among design certifiers, assigned certifiers, and subcontractors to comply with BCAR regulations.
• Ensure that Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability standards, policies, and procedures are integrated into all design stages.
• Perform site visits as necessary to support project execution.
• Contribute to improving the design delivery process by providing feedback and innovative suggestions for future implementations.
• Stay updated on evolving standards and technological advancements via continuous professional development.
• Perform other related duties as required.
