Customer Delivery Driver

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will represent Tesco in customers' homes, providing more than just transportation—delivering excellent service with a cheerful attitude. The position is physically active, diverse, and independent, yet supported by a strong team at base.

Work Schedule

• Sunday: 18:00 - 22:00
• Monday: 19:00 - 23:00
• Thursday: 18:00 - 22:00
• Saturday: 07:00 - 18:00

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and work area to ensure shopping arrives in excellent condition.
• Safely load your vehicle, perform necessary checks to confirm it is roadworthy and prepared for service.
• Communicate courteously to customers regarding any order adjustments, substitutions, or short-dated items, offering refunds when necessary to provide a smooth experience.
• Handle all products with care and attention, treating each order as your own to maintain high quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver orders within scheduled time slots, offering friendly and genuine service at customers' doorsteps to make them feel valued.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Ability to develop strong rapport with colleagues to foster teamwork and enhance customer service.
• Friendly and welcoming demeanor towards customers and coworkers alike.
• Adaptability to respond promptly to changing customer demands and embrace new procedures both on the road and at the store.
• Holder of a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (manual or automatic) for more than one year, with a maximum of three penalty points.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting pay rate at £14.18 per hour, increasing to £15.45 per hour in stores located within the M25. Certain areas may offer additional compensation.
• A guaranteed minimum of 16 hours of work weekly, with options for roles starting from 12 hours.
• Starting holiday entitlement of 20 days plus an additional personal day, increasing to 22 days after 12 months, plus bank holidays.
