Role Overview
Join Lidl Ireland as a Customer Assistant in Caherdavin, Limerick, where our core aim is to deliver an excellent shopping experience across every part of the store, from Head Office to the shop floor. If you’re enthusiastic, customer-focused, energetic, and eager to learn, this could be the perfect opportunity, offering a competitive weekly earning from €460+ on a 30-hour per week contract.
Work Shifts
- Morning shift: Begin early at 5am or 6am to restock shelves with award-winning products and prepare fresh bakery items for store opening.
- Middle shift: Starting mid-morning to early afternoon, your role will include maintaining store cleanliness, ensuring products remain fresh and well presented, assisting customers, and operating tills to reduce queues.
- Late shift: Starting in the afternoon, responsibilities include providing excellent customer service at tills, replenishing stock, and preparing the store for the following day.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage customers in a friendly, helpful manner to enhance their shopping experience.
- Comply with stock loss prevention controls throughout the store.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene inside and outside the store.
- Apply freshness and product rotation guidelines rigorously.
- Ensure proper waste management processes are followed.
- Support inventory count activities as required.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a proactive attitude with exceptional customer service skills.
- Willingness to exceed customer expectations consistently.
- Dependable and responsible in all working duties.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Strong team collaboration skills.
- Previous customer-facing experience is preferred but not mandatory if you demonstrate the right mindset.
- Must be aged 18 or over due to the role's requirement to sell alcohol.
Compensation and Benefits

- Hourly rate starting at €15.40, increasing to €17.90 after three years of service.
- Additional pay for unsocial hours (12am to 7am), overtime, Sundays, and bank holidays.

- Year 1: Basic €15.40/hr, Unsocial hours €19.25/hr, Overtime/Sundays €23.10/hr, Bank Holidays €30.80/hr
- Year 2: Basic €16.20/hr, Unsocial hours €20.25/hr, Overtime/Sundays €24.30/hr, Bank Holidays €32.40/hr
- Year 3: Basic €16.90/hr, Unsocial hours €21.13/hr, Overtime/Sundays €25.35/hr, Bank Holidays €33.80/hr
- Year 4: Basic €17.90/hr, Unsocial hours €22.38/hr, Overtime/Sundays €26.85/hr, Bank Holidays €35.80/hr
