The Suthers School under the Trust is currently recruiting a Cover Supervisor to work in a positive, supportive environment where staff contributions significantly impact student experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee students during class when the regular teacher is absent, following school policies.
• Help organize learning spaces and prepare necessary teaching materials.
• Maintain and manage student behaviour to foster an effective learning atmosphere.
• Provide responses to student inquiries about assigned work.
• Collect completed classwork and deliver it to designated recipients or locations.
• Ensure classrooms are left tidy after sessions.
• Manage student entry and exit from classrooms consistent with school rules.
• Document and report attendance during lessons as per procedures.
• Support exam invigilation under guidance from the exams officer.
• Report behavioural issues using established referral processes and follow behaviour policies.
• Address safeguarding emergencies promptly according to school protocols.
• Supervise student arrivals and departures from the school premises.
• Monitor students during lunchtime duties on a rota system.
• Provide additional pupil support during non-cover times through individual or group assistance and support pastoral care interventions.

Terms and Benefits

• Permanent, full-time position
• Term time only contract
• Salary scale 4 ranging from 26,403 to 28,142 pro-rata ( 22,671 to 24,164 actual annual salary)
