Cost Control Engineer

About the Role

Yamama Cement is seeking a dedicated Cost Control Engineer to be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time, on-site position involves overseeing and managing the financial aspects of projects by applying cost control techniques, conducting thorough financial analyses, and ensuring optimal use of resources to meet project goals.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze and review project budgets and cost estimates to confirm they align with the approved project scope.
• Assess contractors' financial proposals, prepare comparative cost analyses, and offer informed recommendations.
• Perform cost benchmarking and variance evaluations compared to previous or similar projects.
• Examine periodic cost reports and validate financial data submitted by contractors and consultants.
• Track project budget status, commitments, and expenses to ensure they stay within approved limits.
• Evaluate change orders from a financial perspective, advising on approval or rejection based on impact.
• Investigate the correlation between project progress and actual spending.
• Confirm material quantities with approved drawings and specifications.
• Maintain precise documentation of costs, invoices, and project financial records.
• Review contractor-submitted bank guarantees and financial securities to ensure they meet contractual requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience in cost control, project cost management, or project controls.
• Strong capabilities in financial analysis and reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and specialized cost management and reporting software tools.
• Background in construction, industrial, or manufacturing projects is advantageous.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
