About the Centre

Leaps & Bounds Children’s Centre is a licensed, non-profit child care organization with three established sites in Arnprior and Renfrew, plus two additional centres set to open in Pembroke. The Pembroke site is in a new building next to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School on Clemow Avenue, and the Explorers' Treehouse program operates from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.

Role Overview

The centre is hiring a Cook to support both programs, starting on or around the first of August (exact date to be confirmed). This is a full-time onsite position of about 40 hours each week, with roughly 8 hours per day and around 1.5 hours spent in the program with children.

What the Role Involves

The cook will plan and prepare lunch plus two snacks each day, making sure meals meet or go beyond the nutritional standards set by Canada’s Food Guide and the local Health Unit. The role also includes maintaining the kitchen, all equipment, and related items in a clean, safe, sanitary, and well-organized condition.

This position can be physically and mentally demanding, but it is also described as enjoyable and meaningful, with supportive children and coworkers contributing to the atmosphere. The centre is seeking someone who is energetic, compassionate, and comfortable working in this type of setting.

Requirements

A Safe Food Handling Certificate is required, along with valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification. A clear Criminal Reference Check must also be provided. Previous experience in a large kitchen environment is preferred.

Pay and Additional Information

The wage is $20.91 per hour, plus 4% holiday pay. Applications are requested by July 24, 2026 at noon. Only candidates chosen for an interview will be contacted.
