Contract & Claim Specialist (Rail)

About the Role

We are seeking a Contract & Claim Specialist to join our team in Abu Dhabi on a one-year renewable contract basis. This position is focused on rail infrastructure projects, involving comprehensive management of contract administration and claims to safeguard the project's commercial interests.

Responsibilities

• Manage contract administration adhering to project requirements and frameworks such as FIDIC.
• Evaluate and handle various claims including extensions of time, variations, cost and delay claims, and disruptions.
• Draft and review contractual notices, claim documents, and supporting evidence.
• Collaborate with planning and cost teams to analyze delays, disruptions, and financial impacts.
• Assist in the negotiation, dispute resolution, and settlements related to claims.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and identify associated commercial risks and mitigation strategies.
• Maintain detailed records of contractual correspondences, variations, claims, and decisions.
• Prepare regular reports covering contract status, claim exposures, and commercial risks.
• Work closely with legal, planning, cost control, project management, and technical departments.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of proven experience in contracts administration, claims, or commercial management.
• Experience on major infrastructure, rail, construction, or large-scale projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other key international contract models.
• Skilled in claim preparation, evaluation, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
• Well-versed in project controls, planning, cost estimation, and delay analysis.
• Outstanding abilities in contractual interpretation, documentation, and negotiation.
