Role Overview

This position is dedicated to maximizing the recovery value from decommissioned IT equipment by pinpointing value opportunities not currently exploited. The specialist will analyze hardware at the sub-component level, focusing on recovery of parts like individual chips within assemblies which may remain unnoticed in higher-level reviews. Responsibilities span from identifying opportunities to execution, collaborating across teams to integrate findings into operational practices. Moreover, insights gathered will influence the overarching value recovery strategy managed by the NPI Coordinator. As the initiative progresses, the role might expand to wider value recovery and reverse logistics activities.

Re:Cycle Reverse Logistics specializes in electronics processing, reuse, and recycling, particularly handling valuable data center hardware. Operating as part of Amazon's corporate family, we seek meticulous and technically inquisitive candidates to join our Value Recovery group to unlock hidden hardware value through cross-functional collaboration and operational implementation.

Key Duties

• Analyze components and assemblies sourced from rack demanufacturing and other inputs to uncover previously untapped value recovery opportunities.
• Identify recoverable sub-components across diverse hardware types, including proprietary and third-party OEMs.
• Collaborate with Operations, Systems, Engineering, and Commercial teams to bring value recovery initiatives from concept to deployment.
• Assist in creating scalable workflows and processes to systematically capture identified value.
• Maintain detailed documentation of findings, track recovery initiatives, and monitor progress.
• Participate in other related projects such as value recovery, reverse logistics, and ad hoc tasks as directed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Procurement, Logistics, Accounting, Supply Chain Management/Analysis, Construction, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware.
• Understanding of electronic components with ability to identify individual parts (ICs, transistors, capacitors, connectors) and their functions.

• Preferred experience includes knowledge of critical data center hardware.
• Track record of executing process improvements.
• Strong communication skills bridging technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
• Experience with global, cross-functional collaboration.
• Background in IT asset disposition, electronics recycling, or component recovery is advantageous.
• Familiarity with inventory or asset management software.
• Flexibility to adapt duties as role and programs evolve.
