Job Overview

This position involves preparing ingredients for cooking including portioning, chopping, washing, peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. The role requires preparing and cooking food following recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists. Responsibilities include preparing cold foods, operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, and testing food to ensure thorough cooking. Maintaining food quality during preparation, organizing and cleaning the workstation, serving food in proper portions, and sanitizing kitchen areas, tools, and equipment are integral parts of the role. The candidate will also verify appropriate appliance and food temperatures.

Safety and Conduct

The candidate must adhere to all company policies including safety and security protocols, report any maintenance needs or unsafe conditions, complete required safety training and certifications, maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, and use clear and professional communication. The role emphasizes teamwork, positive working relationships, and responsive interaction with fellow employees. Physical duties involve standing, sitting, or walking for extended shifts, physical movements such as bending, twisting, reaching overhead or below knees, and handling objects up to 25 pounds. Additional reasonable duties may be assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of one year of related experience. There is no supervisory responsibility or specific licensing needed.
