Job Description

In the role of Commis 1 Pastry, you will assist in preparing the pastry kitchen for daily operations by coordinating with the Chef de Partie to ensure all supplies and equipment are ready.

• Help prepare and assemble a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods following established recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Report relevant operational updates, customer feedback, or other pertinent information to the Chef de Cuisine and Chef de Partie to maintain efficient section workflow.
• Adhere strictly to HACCP standards and local municipality regulations to uphold top-level food safety and hygiene practices.
• Monitor pastry section inventory, assist with stock management, and notify the Chef de Partie of any shortages or irregularities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organizational standards within the pastry area, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients and finished items.
• Support the pastry team collaboratively and show eagerness to develop technical pastry skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar pastry role within a five-star hotel environment is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities combined with a genuine passion for service excellence.
• Competent in fundamental pastry techniques such as dough preparation, item assembly, and plating.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the capacity to manage several tasks simultaneously.
• Physical endurance to stand for long durations and perform efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
