About the Role
Join the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust as a Clinical Trials Pharmacist, an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading cancer centre in the UK. This role is based primarily in Sutton with occasional work required at the Chelsea site to maintain seamless service coverage. You will contribute directly to delivering high-quality pharmacy services to patients and staff across multiple locations including dispensaries, medical day units, research wards, and drug development units.
The Royal Marsden offers state-of-the-art cancer care with a focus on innovative clinical trials, supporting over 400 active investigational medicinal product studies spanning gene and cellular therapy research.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pharmacy clinical trials services across multiple hospital sites and units, including dispensaries at Chelsea and Sutton, Medical Day Unit, West Wing Clinical Research Centre, Oak ward, and the Drug Development Unit.
- Provide expert support and guidance for clinical, dispensing, ward-based, and research day unit queries related to clinical trials.
- Offer clinical trials advisory support during research clinic activities and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Assist with the prescribing process in research clinics.
- Support pharmacy areas such as aseptic services and clinical services with trial-related advice, collaborating closely with research teams.
- Participate in clinical trial setup, amendment reviews, and ongoing maintenance to ensure trial activities run smoothly within the Trust.
- Coordinate with individual clinical units, research and development, and wider Trust services to uphold high standards in trial service provision.
Candidate Profile and Experience
Applicants should have proven experience working with clinical trials, preferably with a background in oncology or haematology-oncology. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team including pharmacists, technicians, and assistants striving for excellence in patient care and research delivery.
