About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Claims Handler to join our welcoming teams located in Ipswich and Martlesham, predominantly based at the Martlesham office. Our organization prides itself on delivering unbiased expert insurance advice across a wide range of industries including construction, manufacturing, transport, processing, and food sectors. Key Duties

  • Manage a portfolio of claims from initial notification to final settlement, including verifying coverage and maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Regularly update Directors, Account Executives, and Handlers on the status of claims.
  • Create and maintain claim files, follow up with clients and insurers to secure required documents, and advance claims to resolution.
  • Appoint Loss Adjusters or Engineers when necessary and negotiate settlements with insurers.
  • Issue settlement cheques for eligible claims and keep accurate computer records.
  • Generate statistics and reports on claims as needed for stakeholders.
  • Build and nurture relationships with clients, insurers, adjusters, engineers, and other relevant parties.
  • Participate in client meetings when appropriate.
  • Adhere strictly to the Company's Complaints Procedures and FCA regulations.
  • Comply with company policies on Health and Safety, reporting any relevant issues promptly.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proficient IT skills and familiarity with industry systems, procedures, and processes.
