Civil Technician

Role overview

The Civil Technician supports day-to-day civil inspection, upkeep, repair, and construction work across facilities and infrastructure. This position works closely with operations and project teams to make sure civil activities follow the approved scope, quality expectations, and safety rules.

Key responsibilities

• Help inspect, maintain, and repair civil structures, buildings, and infrastructure assets.
• Support construction and maintenance tasks while following approved drawings and specifications.
• Observe work happening on site and flag any structural or operational concerns.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
• Work with other departments and contractors to keep projects moving smoothly.
• Assist in preparing and tracking maintenance plans and civil work schedules.
• Keep clear records of inspections, maintenance work, and project updates.
• Help diagnose site issues and support the identification of corrective actions.

Skills and knowledge

• Practical understanding of civil construction techniques, materials, and maintenance methods.
• Awareness of applicable regulations and workplace safety requirements.
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Introductory root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and technical documents.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with quality control expectations and site inspection practices.

Education

A diploma in Civil Engineering or another relevant technical qualification is required.
