Job Overview

As a Cashier at The Home Depot in Wappingers Falls, NY, you will play a vital role in delivering prompt, courteous, accurate, and safe service to customers. Your responsibilities include handling Checkout and Return transactions efficiently and overseeing the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process sales and return transactions promptly and accurately.
• Monitor and manage the Self-Checkout area to assist customers as needed.
• Continuously seek to expand product and project knowledge to answer customer inquiries and identify potential sales opportunities.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures to minimize inventory shrinkage.

Additional Leadership Responsibilities (Head Cashier Role)

• Position and support Cashiers by expediting price checks.
• Authorize Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental stations.
• Serve as the first point of escalation for customer concerns and issues.
• Assist in supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates and new Cashiers using available tools to foster development.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience: at least one year working as a Cashier.
