Role Overview
Cashiers are vital in delivering prompt, courteous, and precise service to customers. They handle checkout and return transactions efficiently and oversee the Self-Checkout section to ensure a smooth process. Beyond processing sales, they actively acquire knowledge about products and projects to inform customers and identify chances for additional sales.
Key Duties
- Manage checkout and return transactions promptly and accurately.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area to ensure functionality and customer ease.
- Continuously enhance product and project knowledge to assist customers effectively and recognize selling opportunities.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures aimed at reducing inventory shrinkage.
Leadership Role - Head Cashier
- Assign positions to Cashiers and support them by expediting price verifications.
- Authorize Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various registers including Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Act as the first point of escalation for customer concerns to resolve issues expertly.
- Support supervision, coaching, and training efforts for Front End Associates.
- Engage in training new Cashiers and utilize all tools to mentor and develop frontline staff.
Qualifications
The preferred candidate for the Head Cashier position should have a minimum of one year experience in a cashier role.
