TNT Crane & Rigging, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and eager learner for the role of CAD Designer/Engineer Technician based in Houston, TX. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate is either a current student or recent graduate from a program specializing in Design Drafting, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management, who has solid drafting fundamentals and a keen interest in the mechanics of large-scale structures and heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop lift plans, machine installation layouts, and other supporting drawings using 2D/3D AutoCAD software.
- Establish and maintain a well-organized filing system for detailed execution drawings.
- Engage directly with clients to clarify job requirements and conduct site measurements as needed.
- Collaborate with clients and crane operators or riggers to identify the most effective and efficient approach to operations.
- Compile comprehensive lift plan packets that include all pertinent details, drawings, and certifications.
- Communicate and review lift plans with team members, clients, operations, and safety personnel.
- Respond promptly to changes and adjustments in project specifications.
Qualifications
- Pursuing or holding an associate degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Design Drafting, or comparable fields.
- Basic familiarity with construction and engineering standards such as AISC, ASME-BTH, or AWS; on-the-job learning will be supported.
- Practical experience with drafting software like AutoCAD 3D or SolidWorks is preferred; exposure to Bluebeam, Cranebee, or 3D Lift Planner is advantageous.
- Previous academic or project experience relating to cranes, forklifts, hydraulic machinery, or oversized cargo handling.
- Basic understanding of heavy machinery, lifting apparatus, or transportation of large cargo gained from coursework, projects, or internships.
- Strong motivation to learn, adapt, and advance within a dynamic, specialized sector.
