Overview

Keda Ghana Ceramics Company Limited is seeking a seasoned Business Manager to serve as the principal liaison between its new Glass Project and various external stakeholders such as government bodies, traditional leadership, utility providers, and local communities. This role aims to establish secure legal, social, and operational foundations for the factory while ensuring smooth integration of infrastructure and adherence to regulatory standards.

Primary Duties

• Oversee land acquisition and transfer processes involving Stool Lands and private properties by coordinating with the Lands Commission to validate leaseholds and title registrations.
• Foster and sustain strategic relationships with the Traditional Council and local Chiefs, proactively handling disputes tied to boundaries, compensation, or construction effects.
• Manage labor demands from local communities and align community relations to prevent protests or disruptions during construction phases.
• Maintain the social license to operate through continual community engagement.
• Lead negotiation and monitoring efforts with GRIDCo/ECG for electrical grid connections and with GWCL for industrial water supply services.
• Coordinate procurement of gas resources and related infrastructure by partnering with GNPC and Ghana Gas, overseeing gas station development and price negotiation.
• Supervise local contractors responsible for site preparation and access road construction.
• Handle registration with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and manage quota applications to obtain customs duty exemptions for imported equipment and machinery.
• Coordinate the clearance of substantial industrial equipment at Tema or Takoradi ports and address any disputes with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Customs regarding inspections and duties.
• Lead the company’s application for Free Zone status with the Ghana Free Zones Board (GFZB), including pursuing applicable tax incentives.
• Ensure timely acquisition and renewal of critical permits such as Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification, Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) approval, Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) permits, and District Assembly building permits.
• Act as the chief liaison for Immigration Service (GIS) and Police Service, managing external inspections and upholding a secure operational environment.
• Coordinate crisis management and security responses in collaboration with the appropriate authorities.

Candidate Requirements

• At least five years of professional experience managing large-scale industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects within Ghana.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Ghanaian administrative processes, particularly relating to the Land Act.
• Established communication networks within Customs (GRA), Lands Commission, ECG/GRIDCo, or relevant energy sector entities.
• Fluency in English at a professional level.
• Exceptional diplomatic and negotiating skills, capable of navigating complex social structures.
• Proficiency or understanding of Twi or other local dialects is a significant advantage to facilitate labor and community relations.
• Experience with Free Zone application processes and management.
• Familiarity with glass manufacturing or heavy industry projects is preferred.
