Position Overview
The Business Development Representative (BDR) at Diligent is a crucial contributor to company growth by identifying and engaging potential clients. This position requires creating a robust outbound sales pipeline and promoting Diligent’s products as a knowledgeable brand ambassador. Success in this role depends on excellent communication skills and thorough product understanding. The role offers a competitive base salary supplemented by a commission structure, with advancement opportunities into corporate software sales expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Expertly utilize lead sourcing tools to develop precise and targeted prospect lists via cold calling, LinkedIn, Outreach, Sales Force, ZoomInfo, and others.
- Apply sales best practices including email, phone calls, and social platforms to connect and engage with new leads.
- Employ insightful questioning techniques to identify and qualify the appropriate decision-makers.
- Effectively generate interest and influence potential clients to create opportunities.
- Arrange appointments and demonstrations on behalf of account executives and maintain accurate CRM records.
- Consistently meet or surpass established targets and key performance indicators.
- Support teammates by sharing effective methods to enhance team-wide sales performance.
- Perform additional related duties as required to meet business objectives.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong enthusiasm for working in a goal-driven, sales-focused environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of the sales process covering marketing, lead generation, cold calling, and sales funnel management.
- Proven ability to convey product value clearly and rapidly acquire deep product expertise.
- Outstanding communicative ability, with a record of successfully engaging high-level executives.
- Excellent presentation skills both verbally and in writing, delivering persuasive and clear messages.
- Energetic and proactive attitude fostering achievement and continual improvement.
Preferred Expertise
- Background in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) sales.
- Experience cultivating strong relationships with c-suite stakeholders.
