Role Overview
The Business Development Representative supports the Sales team by generating a qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting and handling inbound leads. This position manages the initial sales stages, scheduling high-value discovery calls that translate into revenue opportunities. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the role demands proactive outreach, thorough prospect qualification, and seamless handoffs to Account Executives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily outbound prospecting via email, phone, and LinkedIn, maintaining consistent volume and disciplined follow-up strategies.
- Research and analyze accounts to identify appropriate prospects and tailor outreach communications.
- Generate qualified discovery meetings aligned with the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP).
- Collaborate with Account Executives on account planning and strategy formulation.
- Respond promptly to inbound leads, qualify interest, confirm suitability, and schedule discovery sessions.
- Ensure rapid first response to inbound inquiries and maintain comprehensive records and next steps in Salesforce.
- Execute early-stage discovery calls to validate needs, timing, and intent; set clear agendas and expectations.
- Facilitate smooth transitions of qualified meetings to Account Executives, preserving meeting quality and conversion rates.
- Accurately log all activities, notes, and stages within Salesforce, adhering to outbound cadences and routing procedures.
- Submit weekly reports detailing activities and pipeline progress, collaborating with the Business Development Manager to refine messaging and targeting.
Candidate Profile
- Preferably 1 to 3 years of experience as a Business Development Representative or Sales Development Representative, although motivated early candidates are welcome.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of messaging.
- Comfortable managing high volumes of outbound outreach and handling rejections professionally.
- Proficient in Salesforce and contemporary prospecting tools.
- Highly organized, reliable, and consistent in meeting objectives.
- Motivated by achieving targets and working collaboratively within a team environment.
