Position Overview
Nasittuq Corporation is seeking a dedicated Building Custodian for remote Long Range Radar Sites across Arctic Canada. This permanent role operates on a 6 weeks on, 6 weeks off rotation, reporting directly to the Site Supervisor. Priority consideration will be given to beneficiaries of the Nunavut, Inuvialuit, and Nunatsiavut Land Claim Agreements, with applicants encouraged to self-identify.

Role Responsibilities
- Ensure facilities are maintained in a safe, sanitary, and orderly manner.
- Complete daily custodial and cleaning tasks within established deadlines.
- Report any maintenance, cleaning, or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
- Perform janitorial duties such as mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and related housekeeping activities.
- Assist with kitchen tasks including unloading, stocking supplies, and cleaning.
- Clean vacant employee rooms as required.
- Provide courteous and timely responses to inquiries from colleagues and visitors.
- Assume additional related duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile
Education: High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications: Possession of a valid driver’s license is preferred.
Experience: Prior experience in janitorial or housekeeping roles is advantageous.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols.
- Physical capability to lift up to 25 pounds and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Able to work under physically demanding conditions and in harsh remote weather environments.
- Dependable and team-focused with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Working Conditions and Schedule
- Full-time permanent employment with 48 hours per week.
- Work schedule: Monday through Saturday.
- 6x6 rotational schedule (six weeks on site, six weeks off).
- Willingness to travel to nearby sites as required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Overtime compensated at one and a half times base rate for hours exceeding 40 per week.
- 6% vacation pay for employees under five years of service; 8% for those with five or more years.
- Extensive benefits package covering health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and pension with employer matching up to 5%.
