Job description

Role Overview

The Branch Risk Manager functions as a key support to the branch's strategic goals, ensuring rigorous risk oversight, assurance, control, and governance throughout branch operations. This position is tasked with upholding strong governance forums, bolstering operational risk practices, and guaranteeing that all procedures align with internal policies, external legal mandates, and the Bank's control frameworks.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Risk and Control and branch leadership in sustaining robust risk, assurance, and governance oversight aligned with branch strategy.
  • Maintain vigilant governance and assurance over critical processes such as Anti-Money Laundering, sanctions screening, safeguarding customer and Bank data, and protection of assets.
  • Evaluate branch procedures to verify that adequate controls and governance structures are in place for both ongoing and new initiatives.
  • Contribute insights to global process and control development to ensure adherence to Group standards while incorporating local operational needs.
  • Promote effective operational risk management within the branch, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Support the rollout and embedding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework in branch functions.
  • Track and aid in the reduction of operational losses, manage control issues, and oversee risk incidents, ensuring appropriate corrective measures.
  • Organize governance bodies, conduct operational risk assessments, coordinate regulatory audits and inspections, and prepare related branch submissions.
  • Partner with process owners to ensure product, data remediation, and Customer Due Diligence governance standards are robust and compliant.
  • Exhibit exemplary professional conduct, uphold the Group's Code of Conduct, and proactively identify, escalate, and address risk, compliance, and conduct concerns.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive experience in operational risk control, governance, compliance assurance, and regulatory adherence.
  • Strong knowledge of branch operations, process governance, audit management, and risk control frameworks.
  • Excellent skills in engaging with senior stakeholders, process custodians, auditors, regulators, and cross-functional partners.
  • Proven decision-making ability, sound judgment, and capacity to navigate ambiguity within dynamic business settings.
  • Demonstrated collaboration aptitude with a client-centric approach, fostering trust and accountability.
  • Expertise in business facilitation, change management, frontline risk supervision, governance support, and strategic business alignment.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional certifications in Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, or Governance are advantageous.
