Position Overview

As an Autism Outreach Support Worker, you will deliver a variety of tailored supports to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Reporting to a NLN Centre Manager and working collaboratively with the Health Service Executive, you will manage referrals, build trusting relationships, and empower clients by assessing current capabilities, setting person-centered goals, and identifying required supports.

Key Duties

  • Coordinate and manage assigned client caseloads, including scheduling individual and group activities, maintaining accurate records, and participating in required meetings.
  • Establish and nurture positive relationships to build trust and encourage active client involvement.
  • Conduct skill assessments, develop personalized goals, and determine support needs for each client.
  • Assist clients in defining their lifestyle preferences, fostering community engagement, and linking them with ongoing support networks.

Candidate Profile

  • Possession of at least a bachelor's degree in Education, Social Care, Psychology, or related field, or comparable relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of two years working directly with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with stakeholders to deliver effective services.
  • Ability to function effectively within multidisciplinary team settings.

Compensation and Working Conditions

The role is permanent, with a 36-hour work week based at Unit 7, IDA Industrial Estate, Cork Road, Waterford. Starting salary begins at €36,455.15 per year, progressing through 14 increments up to €61,581.27 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
