Position Overview
The Associate Engineer Mechanical CAD Specialist plays a vital role in supporting Mechanical Design and Senior Engineers by transforming design concepts into precise mechanical models and technical drawings. Their core focus lies in drafting execution, ensuring accuracy, and delivering high-quality documentation primarily for modular structures and mechanical assembly components.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and update 3D mechanical CAD models alongside detailed engineering drawings.
- Generate workshop, fabrication, and manufacturing drawings to facilitate production processes.
- Accurately incorporate design changes including markups, redlines, and revisions.
- Maintain consistency and standards in 2D and 3D models aligned with project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with BIM teams and other engineering disciplines for coordinated model integration.
- Organize CAD files diligently, keeping thorough version control and revision histories.
- Revise mechanical CAD drawings based on validated engineering feedback.
- Implement approved modifications accurately after engineering assessments.
- Report any discrepancies or technical concerns in drawings to Mechanical Engineers promptly.
Qualifications and Experience
- An accredited technical or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Between one and two years of professional experience in mechanical CAD drafting roles.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Inventor, Creo, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD is essential.
- Familiarity with Revit software is advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail ensuring drafting precision.
- Proficient in English communication, both oral and written.
Work Environment and Conditions
- No specific physical demands associated with this role.
- Travel requirements up to approximately 10% of work time.
