Assistant Technical Manager

Overview

This role involves supporting and mentoring a team of web developers to enhance the company’s applications and meet the demands of a growing business. The position serves as a primary IT contact to resolve critical issues faced by users promptly.

Key Responsibilities

• Reporting directly to the IT Technical Manager and indirectly to the Group Head of IT.
• Collaborating with diverse business leaders, colleagues, offshore developers, and vendors to fulfill business needs and execute group projects and strategies.
• Enhancing and developing web-based business applications and e-commerce platforms.
• Translating user requirements into programmatic solutions with appropriate documentation.
• Ensuring source code and version control protocols are followed across teams.
• Creating test plans and cases alongside technical and functional documentation following established methodologies.
• Keeping abreast with the latest trends in application/web technologies and security.
• Assisting in the creation and enforcement of development standards and protocols.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining SharePoint solutions to improve collaboration, automate workflows, and manage documents.
• Building and managing Power BI dashboards and reports to facilitate business analytics and data-driven insights.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• Between three to five years of hands-on programming experience in developing in-house and e-commerce web/mobile applications using technologies such as C#.Net, ASP.Net MVC, Web API, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, React, and bash scripting.
• Experience handling SharePoint development and administration.
• Proficient in Power BI dashboard creation and data modeling.
• Bonus experience includes cross-platform mobile app development with Xamarin, React Native, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with MS-SQL, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL databases.
• Knowledge of various e-commerce, CMS, ERP, CRM platforms and integration with payment and logistics gateways.
• Experience with cloud deployment and architecture.
• Proficient in development tools such as Visual Studio, MS DevOps, Jira, Git, Bitbucket, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
• Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles, SEO, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Excellent project coordination, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
