About the Role and Company
As an Assistant Store Manager at Carters Inc., based in Windsor, Ontario, you become the welcoming face for families exploring our range of baby and children's apparel. You will assist new parents and caregivers as they select essentials for infants and prepare for milestones like the first day of school. Key Responsibilities
- Manage workforce deployment ensuring customer focus on the sales floor.
- Offer warm greetings and knowledgeable assistance about products, including their styles and benefits.
- Create and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for both customers and employees.
- Demonstrate and uphold service standards and omnichannel retail experiences, coaching team members to improve.
- Analyze business operations and KPIs and implement actions to enhance store performance.
- Support Store Manager with hiring, training, developing, and retaining store staff.
- Recognize staff excellence and provide corrective guidance when necessary.
- Track and report financial and task completion metrics using company systems.
- Collaborate in merchandising, promotions, markdowns, and product placement per store standards.
- Build customer loyalty through participation in company-sponsored programs.
- Minimize losses through consistent customer service, education, and operational controls.
Candidate Qualities and Requirements
- Positive, solution-driven attitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, professional and effective.
- Experience demonstrating leadership, supervisory capabilities, and engaging with customers.
- Proficiency with technology such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and web navigation.
- At least 1 year of retail or related management experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking for extended periods, and ladder climbing.
- Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with at least two weekly closing shifts.

Compensation: Hourly wage ranging from $19 to $25.10, dependent on experience and location.
