Role Overview
This position focuses on the design of educational environments that promote positive learning outcomes by creating adaptable and inclusive spaces suitable for evolving curricula and teaching methods. The Architect will work with interdisciplinary teams to produce solutions that meet contextual, aesthetic, budgetary, and functional requirements throughout all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze data from reports and publications to understand broad project requirements.
- Create architectural designs that align with quality standards, project deadlines, and budgets to deliver exemplary outcomes.
- Coordinate design intentions collaboratively with other disciplines involved in the project.
- Incorporate engineering inputs, site surveys, and field observations, ensuring adherence to codes and jurisdictional regulations.
- Prepare comprehensive design documentation, reports, drawings, and models following firm standards.
- Conduct site visits to verify compliance with construction documents, identifying deviations and working with owners and contractors to resolve issues promptly.
- Review project deliverables, shop drawings, and services to ensure they meet project specifications, jurisdictional codes, and internal quality controls.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in all aspects of the architectural project lifecycle.
- Proficiency in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Photoshop.
- Working knowledge of MEP and structural building systems, along with applicable building codes.
- Completed relevant post-secondary architectural education.
- Registered with a professional architectural body.
- 10 to 15 years of professional experience in architectural projects.
- Experience with Education sector projects is considered beneficial.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is from 80000 to 115000 annually.
