Applications Engineer, Charging

About the Role

The Supercharging team manages and expands the fastest electric vehicle charging network globally, with over 80,000 Superchargers. We seek an Applications Engineer to tackle complex technical challenges while becoming an expert on Tesla's DC charging products. This role bridges the Charging Deployment division and Engineering Development teams and works closely with Product Management and Hardware Sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritize technical challenges blocking Charging Deployment, developing strategic solutions.
• Innovate to reduce costs and accelerate deployment timelines.
• Analyze and communicate technical product requirements to Product Management and Engineering.
• Serve as the primary technical lead ensuring seamless product and feature rollouts.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Systems Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years in engineering or technical program management roles.
• Preference for experience with renewable energy technologies such as EVs, batteries, or solar energy.
• Familiarity with networking, smart-grid protocols, and controls is highly advantageous.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to distill complex information for diverse audiences.
• A team player with excellent cross-functional leadership abilities.
• Proactive, fast learner with a drive to iterate and enhance solutions quickly.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $228,000 annually, including cash and stock awards plus benefits. Pay varies based on factors such as location, skills, and experience. Additional elements of the total compensation package may be available and will be reviewed upon offer.
