Application Engineer - Electrical Products

Role Overview

Siemens Smart Infrastructure is seeking an Application Engineer for its Electrical Products Center of Competence based in Dubai, UAE. This role focuses on the design, engineering, and application development for Low Voltage Switchgear systems. The successful candidate will provide technical support to partners across the Middle East, helping to enhance smart building infrastructures through digital power distribution solutions that improve comfort, safety, security, and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate tender documents and customer needs to prepare compliant and competitive project proposals.
• Manage tender preparations and submissions via Siemens panel builders for low voltage electrification projects in the region.
• Develop compliance statements aligned with project specifications.
• Design and optimize project configurations both technically and commercially, utilizing the available portfolio.
• Carry out detailed engineering tasks including manufacturing drawings, Bills of Materials, and schematic/wiring diagrams for projects underway.
• Perform network analyses such as load flow, voltage drop, short circuit, and discrimination studies.
• Assist Siemens partners in configuring applications to meet project requirements.
• Create selection guidelines and quotation tools to facilitate partner support.
• Offer technical guidance to partners throughout tendering and execution stages.
• Produce technical documentation to promote awareness of Siemens low voltage switchgear solutions.
• Standardize effective solutions to develop ready-made packages for replication.
• Interpret customer business needs into technical requirements.
• Take part in customer presentations and negotiations.
• Coordinate project progress with technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure alignment and coordination.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering from a reputable institution.
• Strong background in low voltage power distribution systems, motor control centers, and relevant international standards and regulations.
• Experience in low voltage switchgear engineering, design, tendering, or proposal development.
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience preferably in multinational companies.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as EPLAN, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective presentation and negotiation skills.
• Aptitude for working in a multicultural and diverse environment.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic; additional languages are a plus.
