Role Overview
As an Accountant at Hawk, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and punctuality of reporting for the Hawk Group. Your role is critical in enabling executive leadership to make insightful decisions that drive sustainable growth and scalability. You will be an essential contributor in establishing a world-class Finance function within a multicultural team of over 26 nationalities across Europe, the USA, and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain comprehensive bookkeeping for the Hawk parent company and its subsidiaries.
- Manage accounts receivable by posting invoices accurately in the ERP system, reconciling with the invoicing platform, tracking outstanding invoices, and applying cash receipts appropriately.
- Oversee accounts payable processes including invoice review, processing, and ensuring adherence to approval workflows.
- Handle bank and payment transactions, posting them into the ERP and conducting regular bank reconciliations; execute payment operations as required.
- Review and process employee travel and business expense reimbursements throughout the organization.
- Conduct general ledger reconciliations and maintain accurate status of all balance sheet accounts such as fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, deferred revenue, and accrued revenue.
- Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, and monthly management reporting to provide actionable financial insights.
- Produce ad-hoc reports and engage in special projects to aid organizational objectives.
- Assist with statutory compliance responsibilities including corporate tax and VAT filings, coordinating with external tax advisors for local statutory submissions.
Candidate Profile
- You bring 3 to 5 years of practical bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within a dynamic corporate setting.
- You are well-organized, methodical, dependable, and highly motivated.
- You demonstrate responsibility, adaptability, and a strong focus on achieving goals.
- Possess solid expertise with financial accounting systems and ERP platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel to manage data effectively.
- Familiarity with process automation tools or initiatives is a plus.
- Fluent in English and comfortable collaborating in a diverse, international team environment. Knowledge of German is beneficial but not mandatory.
