Rust Developer Intern

About the internship

This internship places you with the engineering team building secure, high-performance backend systems that support identity verification and compliance at scale. You will gain practical experience working on services where speed, memory safety, and reliability matter, while contributing to real fintech products built in Rust.

What you will do

• Develop, improve, and support backend services and microservices written in Rust.
• Create and tune fast, low-latency APIs used in identity verification and fraud detection flows.
• Deliver code that is clean, maintainable, well-tested, and documented, with attention to memory safety and concurrency.
• Partner with senior engineers on architecture discussions, code reviews, and performance improvements.
• Connect Rust services with existing platforms, databases, and external APIs.
• Troubleshoot, profile, and optimize production systems to improve speed and stability.
• Support internal tooling, automation, and other engineering productivity efforts.

Who can apply

Applicants must be available for a full-time, in-office internship, be able to start between 25 June 2026 and 30 July 2026, and commit to the full 3-month duration. Candidates should have relevant skills and interests and must be Computer Science Engineering students.

Other requirements

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Must be able to work full time throughout the internship period.
• Should be willing to work from Bengaluru or relocate there as required by the company policy.
• Working knowledge of Rust concepts such as ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits, and error handling is expected.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and core systems programming principles.
• Familiarity with asynchronous development using Tokio, async/await, or similar tools is preferred.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, and JSON.
• Comfort with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong analytical ability, debugging skills, and problem-solving mindset.
• Willingness to learn quickly and contribute in a fast-moving engineering environment.
• Exposure to Rust web frameworks such as Actix, Axum, Rocket, or similar tools is an advantage.
• Knowledge of databases like PostgreSQL or Redis, and message queue systems, is a plus.
• Basic familiarity with Docker, Linux, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is preferred.
• Interest in fintech, cybersecurity, cryptography, or distributed systems will be beneficial.
• Personal, academic, or open-source Rust projects will be considered an added advantage.

Compensation and duration

The internship offers a stipend of INR 35,000 to 40,000 per month. The role runs for 3 months and begins immediately. There is 1 opening available, and the application deadline is 25 July 2026 at 23:59:59.
