Welder / Fitter

Job Overview

We seek a proficient Welder/Fitter to craft and assemble mild steel parts used in warehouse racking systems, adhering strictly to engineering drawings and quality benchmarks.

Key Duties

• Interpret and comprehend fabrication blueprints and drawings accurately.
• Mark, measure, and position mild steel components precisely for assembly.
• Carry out MIG and ARC welding on mild steel materials.
• Construct various steel items such as pallet racks, shelving units, cable trays, and mezzanine platforms.
• Grind and finish welds, inspecting for quality consistency.
• Ensure dimensional precision throughout the fabrication process.
• Operate fabrication equipment including welding machines, angle grinders, magnetic drills, hand drills, and cutting machines.
• Adhere to all safety protocols while using personal protective equipment.
• Keep the work environment clean and organized.
• Work closely with the production supervisor to meet deadlines and complete tasks efficiently.

Required Experience and Skills

• Prior experience with mild steel fabrication.
• Knowledge of various welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings effectively.
• Proficient in fitting and alignment of components.
• Excellent measuring skills using tools like tape, vernier calipers, and squares.
• Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.

Educational Qualifications

Preferably ITI certification in Welding or Fitting. Candidates with SSLC or PUC and demonstrable experience are also encouraged to apply.
