Job description
Role Overview
Engage in maintaining the vital rail infrastructure by joining our dedicated team as a Wagenmeister:in in the freight sector at DB Fahrwegdienste GmbH. This position is available at multiple locations including Dortmund, Duisburg, Frankfurt am Main, Hagen, Hamm, and Karlsruhe. You will receive a competitive salary even during the retraining phase and work collaboratively with your colleagues in a respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed documentation necessary for train runs such as wagon lists and brake notes.
- Conduct technical wagon inspections and report any irregularities found during assessments.
- Perform tasks following mandatory and prescribed regulations accurately.
- Carry out running capability tests and manage damaged wagons as part of daily duties.
- Inspect rented wagons upon their return to ensure compliance.
Candidate Profile
- Completed technical vocational training, ideally as an industrial mechanic or related metal trade, with additional certification as Wagenmeister for freight transport.
- Preferably possess qualifications as a train driver or shunting assistant in construction.
- Experience and knowledge of operational regulations are required.
- Familiarity with track construction is advantageous.
- Willingness to work at varying locations across the country including weekends and rotating shifts, including night shifts.
- A valid class B driver's license is mandatory.
