Role overview
ECU Testing Ltd is hiring a creative videographer to join its in-house marketing team in Heanor. The role suits someone who enjoys transforming technical topics into engaging, polished video and photo content, especially across engineering and automotive projects.
This position is hands-on and covers the full production cycle, from early planning and research through filming, editing, and final delivery. You will help produce content such as how-to explainers, product features, vehicle build videos, and social media assets for a YouTube channel with more than 125,000 subscribers and social accounts with a combined following of 118,000+.
The company is offering a salary of £32,000 per year for a confident self-starter who can work independently and create compelling content from complex ideas.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare for shoots by building shot lists, arranging schedules, and setting up the required equipment.
- Run video and photo sessions, including guiding on-camera talent so the finished content matches the intended strategy and quality standards.
- Handle post-production work and ensure edits are completed within the required turnaround time.
- Edit long-form videos for a fast-growing YouTube audience.
- Take the lead on special content projects such as vehicle builds, product testing, and track-day filming.
- Capture spontaneous stills and video clips to support social media and website updates.
- Work closely with management and the marketing team to keep content aligned with brand direction and business objectives.
- Keep improving creative output by staying current with industry trends and new ideas.
Ideal candidate profile
- At least 2 years of experience in videography or video production; 3 to 4 years is preferred.
- A university or college qualification in video production or a related creative subject is preferred.
- Strong understanding of filming, photography, editing, and post-production workflows.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to turn technical subject matter into engaging content.
- Advanced ability in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects; knowledge of other Adobe Creative Suite tools is an added advantage.
- Good visual judgement and creative thinking.
- Strong organisational skills, especially for managing content files effectively.
- Practical experience with camera operation, wireless lavalier microphones, and basic lighting setups.
