About the Role
Our client is a regional non-medical home care provider committed to supporting seniors and adults across North Texas, including Veterans authorized for home care through the VA. They seek a Veteran Relations Ambassador to spearhead outreach, advocacy, and relationship building within the local Veteran community.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish genuine connections with Veterans, their families, Veteran service organizations, and community leaders throughout the service area.
- Maintain a visible and active role in local Veteran networks such as VFW and American Legion posts, nonprofits, community groups, Veteran events, and related organizations.
- Represent the organization at Veteran-focused events, meetings, educational forums, and gatherings.
- Provide education to Veterans and their families regarding non-medical home care and how the organization supports those receiving VA authorized care.
- Act as an informed advocate and resource, increasing awareness of VA programs, healthcare options, and eligible benefits.
- Assist Veterans and families in navigating the VA system by directing them to appropriate VA offices, accredited Veteran Service Officers, Veteran Service Organizations, and other qualified resources.
- Identify opportunities to establish community partnerships, sponsorships, and educational initiatives to benefit the Veteran community.
- Facilitate introductions for Veterans and families who could benefit from consultations with the care team, prioritizing relationship-building over sales pressure.
- Convey the perspectives and needs of the Veteran community internally to help improve services and outreach.
- Work collaboratively with leadership and business development to refine Veteran outreach and advocacy strategies.
Candidate Profile
- Strong credibility and trusted connections within the Veteran community—may be a Veteran, military spouse, Veteran advocate, or a professional with deep community involvement.
- Engaged with Veteran organizations, networks, programs, or community events.
- Knowledgeable about the VA healthcare and benefits ecosystem, Veteran Service Organizations, Community Care, and other Veteran support programs.
- Established local relationships with Veteran groups, VA-related resources, and Veteran advocates preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills: approachable, credible, and comfortable initiating conversations.
- Genuine passion for assisting Veterans and families in accessing resources.
- Self-driven and entrepreneurial, capable of converting relationships and ideas into impactful community activities.
- Professional and reliable, able to represent the organization publicly with confidence.
- Enjoys collaborating within a small local team while effectively managing outreach independently.
Additional Information
This role emphasizes education, community navigation, advocacy, and connecting Veterans with qualified resources. It does not involve offering legal advice or independently handling VA claims unless properly accredited. The Ambassador serves as a vital link bridging the client and Veterans, fostering trust and awareness about available support.
