Utility Worker

Position Overview

Join Sodexo as a Utility Worker based at Jacksonville State University. This full-time position involves varied shifts with open availability preferred; specific shift details will be disclosed during the interview. The pay rate ranges from $13.00 to $14.00 per hour.

Key Duties

• Manually or mechanically wash dishes and utensils.
• Sanitize surfaces such as worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
• Dispose of trash and garbage in designated collection points.
• Sanitize equipment using approved cleaning chemicals ensuring food safety standards.
• Replenish supplies including soaps, paper towels, and cleaning agents.
• Engage in significant walking and other mobility activities during shifts that may last over eight hours.
• Perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Arrive punctually to scheduled shifts and maintain consistent attendance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs and client requirements.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• No prior professional experience necessary.
• Basic understanding of sanitation procedures and fundamental food safety principles.

Work Schedule and Location

Position is onsite with variable shifts; flexible scheduling is preferred.
