Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical maintenance tasks, both corrective and preventive, efficiently and safely within stipulated timelines.
- Take ownership of assigned work orders and any additional tasks delegated by supervisors.
- Diagnose root causes of recurring and significant issues to prevent future failures.
- Address technical problems promptly and devise appropriate actions and parts requirements, maintaining knowledge of spare parts availability and specifications.
- Maintain regular communication with managers, peers, and supervisors.
- Make informed decisions regarding spare parts use, corrective actions, and preventive measures for breakdowns.
- Execute maintenance plans to ensure equipment operates within established engineering standards.
- Ensure optimal equipment readiness and line availability, enhancing technical efficiency.
- Implement effective controls to mitigate hazards and risks, achieving environmental, health, and safety (EHS) objectives.
- Operate all utility-related equipment and supervise contracted labor during maintenance while enforcing safety and company standards.
- Perform daily parameter readings and monitoring as assigned.
- Document and report all shift activities accurately.
- Identify improvement opportunities in production processes in coordination with the maintenance supervisor and production teams to enhance quality, productivity, safety, and cost-efficiency.
- Support deployment of the site’s Maintenance and Reliability (M&R) strategic goals to attain world-class maintenance standards.
- Comply with and execute actions related to PepsiCo Maintenance Methodology (PEMM) and Maintenance Improvement Action Plans (MIAP).
- Assist in applying reliability engineering tools and techniques to meet maintenance KPIs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and conduct failure analysis such as root cause analysis (RCA).
- Participate in maintenance forums to share performance data, challenges, best practices, and successes.
- Uphold AIB standards and maintain accurate SAP-PM records for all work orders.
- Adhere consistently to EHS and Quality Food Safety (QFS) policies and standards.
- Engage in maintaining and improving the EHS Management System in compliance with regulations and internal standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Familiarity with mechanical safety standards.
- Experience in maintenance planning and execution systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans, diagrams, layouts, and schematics relevant to mechanical engineering.
- Knowledge of operating and automation systems.
- Technical expertise in refrigeration plant cooling systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance (especially for AC technicians).
- Experience with maintenance management software (CMMS) is an advantage.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Understanding of Quality and Food Safety (QFS) systems and policies.
- Awareness of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) systems and standards.
- Competence with SAP systems.
- Capability to perform basic electromechanical tasks independently.
- General computing skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Experience and Competencies
- At least 2 years of industrial experience.
- Hands-on experience maintaining mechanical equipment, thermal and hydraulic systems, HVAC systems, and rotating and conveying machinery.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for equipment malfunctions.
- Ability to lead minor modification projects and execute planned maintenance activities independently.
- Effective team player with good communication and collaboration skills.
- Leadership capabilities to support, motivate, and coordinate with various departments.
- Adaptability to change and openness to new ideas.
- Analytical thinking skills.
- Experience coordinating with suppliers and contractors including managing requests for quotations (RFQ).
