Utility Food Service/Prep Aide

Job Overview

Located at 13857 Apple Harvest Drive, Martinsburg, WV, this role involves assisting cooks in food preparation and presentation while ensuring cleanliness and smooth functioning of dishwashing and dining areas.

Key Duties

• Assist in preparing requested food items, including portioning and plating salads and desserts.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including floors and equipment.
• Manage the dishwashing station by cleaning dishes, silverware, glassware, and kitchen utensils.
• Monitor water temperature and sanitize the appropriate equipment.
• Dispose of garbage and maintain overall kitchen hygiene.
• Support dining room service tasks like pouring beverages, replenishing paper towels, and cleaning hand sinks.
• Stock food supplies on shelves and in refrigerators.
• Report any kitchen or dining area issues to supervisors promptly.
• Participate in all necessary training sessions and staff meetings.
• Deliver excellent customer service to residents and guests.

Required Qualifications and Physical Demands

• Good organizational skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Must work well under supervision and follow simple instructions accurately.
• Basic understanding of kitchen operations and equipment use is essential.
• Capability to stand, kneel, and walk for long periods, including tolerance of temperature variations, humidity, and noise.
• Able to lift weights up to 50 lbs and carry heavy items for approximately 20 feet.
• Compliance with required safety attire like slip-resistant footwear.
• Availability for a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
