Opportunity Overview

We invite an enthusiastic Transport Planner to join our vibrant and well-established Transport Planning team based in Northampton. This role is ideal for an individual possessing solid expertise in transport planning, especially in development planning, and interest in contributing to diverse public sector initiatives.

Project Exposure

You will play a vital role in significant projects including major Sustainable Urban Extensions, the SEGRO Northampton Strategic Rail Freight Interchange, and the University of Northampton's Waterside Campus. Additionally, opportunities exist to support projects at notable sites such as Silverstone Motor Racing Circuit, Alconbury Weald, Aylesbury Woodlands, Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal, and Rushden Lakes Shopping Centre.

Our facility is located in Blisworth village near M1 Junction 15, offering a welcoming, collaborative atmosphere amidst scenic surroundings alongside the Grand Union Canal.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist in the technical execution of transportation projects.
  • Develop Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and various transport-related studies.
  • Perform relevant technical analyses and data interpretation.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, design teams, local authorities, and the public.
  • Guide and support junior colleagues.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree holder in transportation, geography, engineering, or related field.

  • Strong numerical aptitude complemented by project budget and quality management experience.
  • Preference for candidates pursuing professional qualifications (e.g., Chartered Transport Planning Professional).
