Role Overview

This role involves acting as a Senior Designer responsible for overseeing the development of detailed design projects related to telecommunications Recoverable Works and Asset Relocations. Located in Queensland, the position requires the end-to-end creation of network designs, emphasizing quality deliverables and proactive stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Take charge of designing telecommunications carrier asset relocations and network details mainly within Queensland.
• Maintain high standards of design accuracy and constructability in all deliverables.
• Carry out thorough impact assessments, including forecasting budgets and determining construction strategies.
• Engage and consult with various project stakeholders on design and construction issues.
• Handle project variations efficiently while liaising between carriers, project owners, and construction teams.
• Conduct field surveys and produce professional reports aligned with contractual specifications.
• Perform occasional surveillance tasks during construction phases representing asset owners.
• Hold a valid Australian driver’s licence and be willing to travel as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Must have legal authorization to work in Australia.
• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Telecommunications, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline preferred; however, significant relevant experience can be considered.
• At least five years of experience in telecommunications design and/or network construction.
• Highly skilled in AutoCAD 202x with relevant experience in telecommunications construction designs, able to integrate existing and future construction data into detailed designs.
• Strong familiarity with Optical Fibre and Copper technologies, including expertise in brownfield asset relocations and recoverable works designs.
• Willing to perform asset validation duties, which may involve working in manholes, pits, and telecom exchanges.
• Knowledge of internal fibre networking, rack installation, and fit-out processes.
• At least three years' experience with Telstra/NBN PNI systems and similar databases.
• Must qualify for Australian Federal Police clearance and be capable of obtaining carrier security clearances.
