Role overview
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is looking for a Technology Support Specialist to join its Auckland-based team. This position offers a varied support function across levels 1 and 2, with scope to contribute beyond day-to-day troubleshooting through process improvement, documentation, and helping shape a more automated support environment for the future.
What the role involves
- Deliver fast, helpful, and high-quality customer support to internal users.
- Provide technical assistance through phone, Microsoft Teams, and in-person interactions.
- Investigate and resolve end-user hardware problems.
- Track and manage service requests and incidents within agreed service targets.
- Support the creation and upkeep of team documentation.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Partner with other technical teams to ensure a seamless support experience.
- Support relationship management across Technology, including interaction with senior leaders and Board-level stakeholders.
What you will bring
The ideal candidate will have service desk experience, strong technical troubleshooting ability, and the confidence to explain complex technical issues clearly to non-technical people at all levels. You should be resilient, self-motivated, and capable of building effective working relationships while maintaining a strong customer service focus.
Working arrangements and location
This role is based in Auckland. Regional travel may be needed to support other offices. Working hours may fall anywhere between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm depending on the assigned area. The position offers flexible working arrangements, including a mix of remote and office-based work depending on the location and role.
Salary and benefits
The salary range for this role is between NZD 80,000 and NZD 89,000, depending on skills and experience. Permanent employees also receive a benefits package that includes 5 weeks of annual leave, as well as Income Protection and Critical Illness Insurance.
