Job Purpose
The role focuses on implementing and carrying out operational directives and emergency response plans relating to Oil Spill Response (OSR) and hazardous materials (Hazmat) emergencies. The aim is to ensure effective emergency actions that minimize harm to people, the environment, and financial assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Proper deployment and operation of anti-pollution equipment, including oil dispersant sprayers and chemical agents, following prescribed methods.
- Adhering strictly to waste management procedures and site-specific protocols.
- Selecting appropriate oil spill response tools based on supervisor guidance.
- Performing pre-operation inspections of equipment aligned with manufacturer guidelines and established standard operating procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary School Certificate coupled with a vocational trade qualification relevant to the field.
- Experience ranging from none up to three years in crisis management or emergency response, preferably within related industries.
Minimum education
Higher Secondary (Class 12)
