Role Overview

The Technical Trainer will play a fundamental role in analyzing, designing, and delivering training programs within a project-oriented environment. This position is committed to equipping customers and personnel with essential content knowledge and practical skills, along with monitoring their performance and providing feedback. The trainer will ensure that training activities align with program timelines, business requirements, and customer expectations while often working independently and exercising considerable discretionary authority.

Key Responsibilities

Lead needs analysis to identify required skills and knowledge areas.
Create and sustain training curricula tailored for specific employee groups.
Work collaboratively with internal and external partners—including engineering, verification & validation, program management, and customers—to define training goals, prerequisites, and outcomes.
Develop comprehensive training materials such as manuals, lesson plans, instructor and student guides, exercises, and assessments consistent with company standards.
Select appropriate instructional methods including lectures, workshops, group sessions, and practical demonstrations.
Produce and refine training content using documentation from engineering and other sources, ensuring clarity and quality.
Maintain consistency and alignment across training modules through collaboration with fellow trainers.
Implement effective evaluation and documentation procedures for training sessions to support reporting and audits.
Continuously improve training content and delivery based on feedback and observations.
Design and administer assessments to track learner progress and program impact.
Provide regular updates on training participant progress, schedules, and results to management.
Adhere to APAC PMO Governance Standards throughout training activities.
Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System, occupational health and safety protocols, security guidelines, and HR policies.
Perform any additional assignments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

A four-year degree or diploma in a relevant discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Certification in workplace training and adult education.
Prior experience (minimum two years) in technical training roles is essential.
Familiarity with ITIL, ISO 20000, and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is preferred.
Competence in designing curriculum, instructional methods for individuals and groups, and tools for measuring training effectiveness.
Proven ability to develop, deliver, and test training solutions tailored to identified needs using best practices.
Skill in interpreting technical/system specifications to create training content.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook) and SharePoint.
Experience working in project environments delivering complex technical systems, particularly those involving integrated software and hardware.
Industry knowledge related to transportation, automated fare collection systems, or banking/financial sectors is highly advantageous.
