Technical Service Representative - Floor Coatings

Role Overview

Jotun Kenya is seeking a Technical Service Representative specializing in floor coatings. This position involves delivering expert technical assistance to clients by advising on paint application techniques, inspecting job sites, and ensuring floor coatings meet specified standards. The role’s central objective is to guarantee successful project execution aligned with contractual obligations and customer expectations, all while enhancing confidence in Jotun's solutions and expertise. Located in Nairobi, this role reports to the Sales Manager for Marine and Protective Coatings.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough technical inspections to evaluate surface preparation, moisture content, substrate profile, cleanliness, and overall condition before applying floor coatings.
• Oversee and guide applicators during the coating process, ensuring accurate mixing, application, curing, and adherence to Jotafloor system requirements.
• Verify that application conforms strictly to project Inspection and Test Plans, procedural guidelines, and client specifications.
• Investigate coating performance issues, client complaints, and discrepancies; advise on appropriate corrective measures or repairs.
• Document findings and activities with detailed technical reports, including inspection outcomes, quality notes, non-conformance records, recommendations, and final project completion documents.
• Provide technical expertise and assist with project management by offering hands-on product guidance, conducting training sessions on Jotafloor best practices, supporting warranty inspections, maintenance evaluations, and preparing specifications and method statements.

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

• Possess a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in chemical engineering, civil engineering, construction, or a relevant discipline.
• Experience working with industrial floor coating systems and concrete repair methods.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships.
• Self-driven and accountable, proactively initiates action and accepts responsibility for outcomes.
